Job Summary
- Provide strategic technical leadership across PSI Zimbabwes portfolio ensuring programs are evidence-based responsive to national priorities and aligned with PSIs global and regional strategies and technical standards.
- Lead the introduction evaluation adaptation and scale-up of innovative HIV prevention products HIV and STI diagnostics SRH technologies and differentiated service delivery approaches.
- Collaborate with PSI Global and regional technical teams to identify emerging technologies innovations and service delivery models with potential for introduction and scale-up in Zimbabwe.
- Assess health system policy provider market and implementation readiness and support the integration of new interventions into national programs and public and private sector delivery platforms.
- Provide high-level technical assistance to MOHCC implementing partners private sector stakeholders and other partners to strengthen program design implementation quality and scale.
- Lead the development and adaptation of technical strategies implementation approaches guidance tools and quality standards.
- Ensure strong technical quality across the portfolio including appropriate quality assurance and continuous quality improvement systems.
- Facilitate in-country and cross-country technical learning and exchange drawing on PSIs regional and global experience to inform program design and accelerate adoption and scale-up.
- Represent PSI Zimbabwe in national regional and global technical and strategic forums and position the organization as a trusted technical and implementation partner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with MOHCC regulatory bodies donors technical working groups implementing partners research institutions private sector partners and other key stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership to policy dialogue and support the translation of emerging evidence into national policies guidelines implementation frameworks and service delivery approaches.
- Support policy regulatory market and implementation readiness for the introduction and scale-up of new health technologies and interventions.
- Provide strategic oversight of implementation science operational research evaluations and other evidence-generation activities that address priority programmatic and policy questions.
- Ensure research is implemented to high scientific and ethical standards and in accordance with applicable regulatory and Good Clinical Practice requirements.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to research and technical teams and strengthen organizational capacity for evidence generation analysis interpretation and use.
- Lead and contribute to dissemination of evidence through policy briefs technical reports scientific manuscripts conferences technical forums and other national regional and global platforms.
- Provide strategic oversight of program performance monitoring evaluation learning and technical reporting across the PSI Zimbabwe portfolio.
- Ensure that technical and programmatic activities are effectively planned coordinated implemented and monitored against agreed workplans milestones results frameworks deliverables and donor commitments.
- Work across technical program operations finance and other functions to identify implementation challenges address performance gaps and ensure timely delivery of high-quality programs.
- Strengthen the development and use of performance indicators monitoring systems dashboards learning agendas and other tools to support effective program management and accountability.
- Promote systematic analysis and use of program and research data to inform management decisions improve implementation demonstrate results and guide adaptation and scale-up.
- Ensure high-quality and timely technical and programmatic reporting to donors MOHCC PSI Global and other stakeholders.
- Lead the synthesis of program experience evidence and lessons learned into actionable insights technical presentations briefs dashboards and other knowledge products.
- Promote systematic documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices across PSI Zimbabwe and through national regional and global networks.
- Foster a culture of performance accountability innovation collaboration learning and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Medicine Degree as a minimum requirement.
- A Masters degree or higher in Public Health Preventive Medicine or Epidemiology .
- Good Clinical Practice is a must.
- At least 7 years of experience in HIV SRH diagnostics public health research implementation science or health systems strengthening.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the introduction or scale-up of new health technologies diagnostics pharmaceuticals or service delivery innovations.
- Experience working with government donors regulatory authorities and development partners.
- Strong technical expertise in infectious diseases HIV prevention STI management diagnostics and emerging health technologies.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder partnerships.
- Excellent understanding of implementation science research methodologies and health systems strengthening.
- Strong knowledge of research ethics regulatory compliance and policy development processes.
- Excellent strategic thinking communication stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Ability to translate evidence into actionable policies programs and health system solutions.
