Job Summary
Our client is seeking a compassionate and organized House Matron to oversee the daily care of residents in a functional home setting.
The successful candidate will ensure residents well-being manage medication implement schedules maintain a safe environment and uphold house rules.

Main Responsibilities:
Resident Care and Well-being
- Oversee and provide direct care to residents with special needs ensuring their physical emotional and social well-being.
- Develop implement and review individualized care plans and daily schedules for each resident in consultation with relevant professionals and families.
- Ensure all residents receive appropriate personal care assistance with daily living activities and support tailored to their individual needs.
- Foster a homely safe and stimulating environment for all residents.
Medication Management
- Ensure the accurate and timely administration of prescribed medications to residents maintaining meticulous records in accordance with medical protocols and organizational policies.
- Liaise with medical practitioners pharmacists and other healthcare professionals regarding residents medical needs and prescriptions.
- Monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition related to medication and report accordingly.
Rule Enforcement and Routine Management
- Clearly communicate and consistently enforce house rules and guidelines to maintain a safe respectful and orderly environment.
- Establish and maintain daily weekly and monthly routines and schedules for residents promoting structure and engagement in appropriate activities.
- Manage and support residents in adhering to their individual schedules and planned activities.
Health and Safety
- Ensure the home environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness hygiene and safety.
- Implement and monitor health and safety protocols including emergency procedures.
- Report and address any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for each resident including care plans medication charts incident reports and daily progress notes.
- Prepare and submit regular reports regarding resident welfare operational matters and any significant incidents.
Communication and Liaison
- Act as a primary point of contact for residents families providing updates and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members healthcare professionals therapists and external agencies involved in the care of residents.
- Promote positive relationships within the home and with the wider community.
Team Support and Development (if applicable)
- Supervise and support care staff providing guidance and mentorship.
- Participate in the induction and ongoing training of care staff.

Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in Carework Nursing (experience is preferred) Social Work Healthcare Management or a related field.
- Proven experience in a healthcare establishment a similar role working with adults with special needs or in a residential care setting.
