The primary goal of the Work-Based Learning Coordinator is to develop coordinate and support high-quality work-based learning opportunities for Career and Technical Education (CTE) students. Responsibilities include building partnerships with local employers and community organizations supporting cooperative education experiences coordinating student placements and assisting students with career readiness and employment opportunities.
The coordinator serves as a liaison among students parents employers instructors and school staff to ensure successful and compliant work-based learning experiences that align with educational and career goals.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required.
Certification:
Michigan Vocational Certification Required
Work Experience:
Recent teaching experience and/or related business and industry experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to develop relationships with business and industry partners
Knowledge of labor laws safety regulations and youth employment requirements related to student work-based learning
Strong organizational and data management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with students staff parents and community partners
Proficiency with technology and data management systems
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and maintain partnerships with employers and community organizations to expand work-based learning opportunities for students.
Coordinate student placements in internships cooperative education job shadowing apprenticeships and other career-connected learning experiences.
Conduct work-site visits to ensure appropriate learning environments student progress and compliance with program requirements and safety regulations.
Collaborate with CTE instructors to assist with classroom instruction related to workplace experiences.
Serve as the primary liaison between students parents employers and school staff regarding work-based learning expectations and requirements.
Assist students with employability skills career readiness resume development interviewing and job placement support.
Prepare process and maintain all required documentation training agreements and placement records. Knowledge/Experience w/ JobReady 360 desired but not necessary.
Collect analyze and maintain student placement data for state and local reporting requirements.
Prepare reports presentations informational materials and promotional publications related to work-based learning programs.
Support compliance with state and federal regulations related to career and technical education and work-based learning.
Perform other duties as assigned by Van Buren Tech Administration.
Valid drivers license required.
