Student Worker -Werner Gallery Coordinator


Purpose/Objective of the Role:

  • Fine Arts is seeking a student art major or minor that is motivated to promote and cultivate student art from OWU studios. This position requires working and communicating with a range of people in the OWU community: students staff and faculty as well as maintaining the social media. The work hours are flexible but the position may require availability during weekends. Core responsibilities of the Gallery

Coordinator position:

  • Assist with installments of the exhibits (there should be 2-3 exhibits per semester)
  • Promote exhibits and Werner Gallery space to students and OWU community
  • Maintain the inventory of gallery supplies/tools.

Core Responsibilities of managing Collections:

  • Maintain the inventory of works in the Kalb collection and the departments Instagram account.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good time management
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge to operate with basic power tools
  • Capacity to lift and move items (approximately30 -50 pounds weight)
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud platform.
  • No previous experience necessary
  • Needs to be art major or minor

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning moving materials and maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Prefer art major/minor

  • Understanding the requirements for maintaining an art gallery and art collection
