Ascension Seton is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical care to patients in the Austin area.
- Join an established team of physicians and APPs.
- Practice setting: Outpatient.
- 4 weekend shifts per month requirement.
- APP coverage will include multi-site care.
- Employed position within a nonprofit health system.
- Deliver direct care to treat common illnesses and injuries as well as performing procedures and diagnostics. Will conduct patient histories physical assessments and interventions to support and deliver compassionate patient care.
- Formulate treatment plans by ordering performing and interpreting diagnostic procedures ensuring timely intervention and continuity of care within a supportive physician-collaborative practice model.
- Empower patients and families by providing clear counseling on wellness treatment pathways and community resources to improve long-term wellness and self-care.
- Support and coordinate care when higher levels of care are necessary as well as ensuring timely follow-up with primary care physicians pediatricians and addition outpatient imaging physical therapy and RX services are available to patients.
- Practice with full clinical autonomy enabling you to operate at the full scope of your license.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Masters degree preferred.
Work Experience:
- 1 year of experience preferred.
2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in Urgent Care or Primary Care setting.
