This recruitment will be used to fill six (6) part-time (approximately 10-12 hours per week / maximum of 20 hours per week) Undergraduate Teaching Assistant positions for the Department of Chemistry working with students taking general chemistry courses such as CH 27Z 228Z 229Z. at Oregon State University (OSU).
Position Duties:
55% instructor for recitation and/or laboratory sections of general chemistry
30% grading assignments
10% Mole Hole hours (office hours)
5% attending staff meetings

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered full-time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Required Qualifications:
Grades of B or better in CH 221Z 222Z 223Z 227Z 228Z 229Z (formerly numbered CH)
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an organic chemistry sequence for example CHor CH 331332 with grades of B or higher
Required Experience:
Junior IC
