The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to join our Cumberland County Crisis Response (CCCR) Mobile Outreach team.
In this key role youll be at the center of our crisis response systemcoordinating incoming calls supporting people in real time and helping ensure the right response happens at the right moment. What Youll Do
As a Dispatch Coordinator youll balance coordination crisis support and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receive and coordinate incoming crisis calls from the Maine Crisis Line
- Gather and assess critical information to help prioritize response and dispatch Mobile Crisis Teams
- Provide real-time phone support to individuals families and community providers awaiting assessment
- Offer in-person crisis support to individuals and families at our offices including:
- Crisis assessment and stabilization
- Safety/risk evaluation
- Immediate intervention and planning
- Collaborate with family members community partners and support systems to address urgent mental health needs
- Work within a trauma-informed recovery-oriented framework in all interactions
- Support program operations through:
- Documentation review and compliance
- Billing and workflow coordination
- Administrative tasks such as tracking paperwork scheduling etc.

Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time 40 hours/week
- Schedule determined by program needs (includes some evenings/weekends)
- Based in Portland ME serving Cumberland County
- Work includes in-office community-based and some potential remote tasks
What Were Looking For
Required:
- Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in crisis or human services work
- Experience may include: crisis services residential care case management child protective services warm lines special education or work with individuals with developmental disabilities (including internships/volunteer roles)
- Ability to obtain MHRT/CSP certification within 30 days (training provided)
- Strong communication organization and documentation skills
- Ability to think critically prioritize and make sound decisions under pressure
- Comfort working in a fast-paced team environment with shifting priorities
Preferred:
- Degree in Social Work Psychology Human Services Education or related field
- 23 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with DSM and crisis assessment
- Strong technical skills (electronic records Microsoft Office email systems)

- Ability to collaborate across diverse systems teams and communities
- Successful completion of required background checks
- Valid drivers license for occasional local travel
