Position Information:

The Transportation Training Technician is responsible for recruiting training and evaluating school bus drivers. The Transportation Training Technician leads manages and coordinates the Districts school bus driver training program. This position delivers implements updates and creates driver training in support of safe transportation in compliance with law and regulation.

Shift Details: 8 hours a day; 260 day calendar
Continuing Position:Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However an employees total work hours work locations and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hourly Rate: $116665.25 Annually(2025-2026Professional - Technical Employee Salary Schedule)Effective Sept. 1 2026: $121230.69

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma GED or equivalent.
2. Experience as a school bus driver.
3. Progressively responsible experience as a supervisor or an evaluator.
4. Two to four (2-4) years of work experience in training school bus drivers.

Licenses/Special Requirements:

1. Current Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger School Bus and all other necessary endorsements.
2. Current CDL License Physical Certification
3. Current First Aid Certification
4. OSPI School Bus Driver Authorization
5. State of Washington School Bus Driver Instructor Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4 years of work experience in training evaluating professional development compliance or a related field
• Associates Degree in Public Administration Organizational Development Human Resources Business or a related field.
