Transportation Construction Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Construction Engineer to oversee and manage the planning design and construction of transportation infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring construction activities are executed in accordance with engineering standards safety regulations and project specifications while delivering high-quality transportation facilities on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise construction oversight experience and the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors stakeholders and internal project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage construction activities for transportation infrastructure projects including roadways bridges and related facilities
• Ensure compliance with approved plans specifications engineering standards and applicable safety regulations
• Coordinate with contractors inspectors designers agencies and project stakeholders throughout the construction process
• Review construction schedules cost estimates pay applications and change orders
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress quality and adherence to safety protocols
• Identify and resolve construction issues conflicts and field conditions in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate project documentation reports and records
• Support project delivery to ensure schedules budgets and quality expectations are met

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Experience in transportation construction engineering construction management or inspection
• Knowledge of transportation infrastructure standards construction methods and materials
• Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control procedures
• Strong communication coordination and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with contractors agencies and multidisciplinary project teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
• Experience working on DOT or municipal transportation projects
• Familiarity with construction documentation pay estimates and change management
• Proficiency with project management or construction documentation software
