Tooling Tech

Summary:

Sets up and operates with assistance a variety of machines common to the trade by performing the following duties.

Duties:

crane and forklift safely

assembles inspects cleans and polishes molds. Use skill and care when polishing critical surfaces.

and repairs Hot Runner and hydraulic actuated molds. Must be familiar with electrical and hydraulic circuits using diagrams blueprints and electrical circuit test meters and methods.

and rewire molds.

5. Execute lathe mill and surface grinders machining components.

to read micrometers calipers and other measuring tools.

mold repair work with hand tools hand grinders and stones supervised by Sr. tooling tech or onsite toolmaker.

and constructs machine parts with hand tools.

spot molds and other projects as needed.

Sr. tooling tech or onsite toolmaker on set ups and operations as needed.

out PM records

PM schedule for timely scheduled maintenance

inventory of Tool Room PM components and supplies.

all health and safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.

other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

I understand I have the authority to conduct my job as defined in this job description and in the event that a portion of my duties cannot be achieved I have the authority to bring this matter to the attention of my immediate Supervisor/Manager.

Skills:

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions procedure manuals and blueprint readings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to use precision measuring instruments and ability to use advanced shop math

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Computer experience required to maintain mold status. Must have the ability to get along with coworkers and work in a team environment. Detail oriented.

Minimum of 3 years experience being involved/hands on with Injection Molds.

Strong Mechanical knowledge. 2 Years Crane experience a must.

Machining capabilities is required (Manual Milling Machines Manual Lathes and surface grinding )

Experience with Electrical and Hydraulics.

Tig Welding is required. Hours must be flexible Overtime and call-ins maybe required.

Physical Demands:

The following are the physical demand for the Tool Room Department; must be able to lift at the minimum of at least 50lbs. off the ground; must be able to work on feet for majority of an 8 hour shift; must be able to wear safety glasses where required and walk and climb stairs.
