At Alstom the Metrology function plays a critical role in ensuring the dimensional accuracy quality and reliability of manufacturing tooling including jigs fixtures gauges and assembly tools. This position supports production excellence by verifying compliance with engineering specifications geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements and quality standards. The Metrology team contributes directly to product safety operational efficiency and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Your Role Your Impact
  • Design and implement scalable metrology solutions to optimize production processes and support large-scale rail projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing quality and engineering to ensure seamless integration of tooling systems.
  • Maintain and improve reliability of measurement systems ensuring compliance with industry standards and minimizing downtime.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating and adopting new metrology technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Youll work with sharp committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility ensuring seamless integration of business and technology.
What You Bring
  • Experience in tooling engineering or metrology within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software measurement systems and statistical analysis tools - knowledge of PolyWorks is mandatory.
  • Practical experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is required.
  • Strong understanding of precision engineering quality assurance and process optimization.
  • Excellent communication problem-solving and leadership skills; ability to manage projects and mentor junior engineers.

Salary Range

In accordance with New York State law the anticipated salary range for this position is 65000 - 85000 USD. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience education and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include bonuses incentive pay or other forms of compensation.
