The Role
We are recruiting for two openings a Tool & Die Maker and a Die Maintenance Technician. The skill set for both roles is nearly identical. Some people love building new dies some love maintaining them and some do both well all are welcome. What matters most is your mechanical aptitude your energy and your attitude.
Both positions will work directly in the tool and die department maintaining repairing and running dies on high-speed progressive stamping presses. Youll troubleshoot die quality issues at the press identify root causes and bring solutions to management and engineering.
What You Need to Bring
- Surface grinding is a must minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using diamond wheels for carbide steel and sand wheels for tool steels such as D2
- Strong understanding of small high-speed progressive dies
- Proficiency with all machine shop equipment mills lathes jig grinders and surface grinders
- Experience with tool room measuring devices: micrometers calipers indicators depth gauges and optical comparators
- Comfort with GD&T interpretation both general and geometric
- Ability to read tool drawings and ask the right questions to solve die quality issues
- High mechanical aptitude
- Solid stable work history
- High school diploma minimum
- Valid drivers license with no major violations
