Test Lead

Job Details:

• Portfolio-level Test Lead/Test Manager supporting Xcel Energys customer- and agent-facing technology portfolio
• Acts as the single point of accountability for portfolio test readiness risk visibility and test sign-off
• Supports a complex Salesforce-centric ecosystem with multiple concurrent initiatives

Portfolio Scope

• Salesforce customer-facing platform
• Salesforce OneView agent-facing solution
• Customer mobile applications (iOS and Android)
• API layer leveraging Apigee and Kubernetes
• Informatica backend with multiple daily ETL jobs
• Upcoming Salesforce Field Service implementation and CIS replacement

Key Responsibilities

• Own portfolio-level test planning governance enforcement and risk management
• Serve as accountable authority for portfolio and release test sign-off
• Provide oversight and direction to offshore test leads and teams (approx. 140 resources)
• Coordinate with product teams release management architecture and enterprise quality leadership
• Act as the primary conduit for test status and risk reporting to portfolio leadership
• Ensure systems integrators adhere to Xcel Energy testing standards and KPIs
• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes automation and quality outcomes

Work Environment & Team Structure

• Highly collaborative matrixed environment
• Will partner with an internal Xcel Energy Test Manager in a two-in-the-box model
• Works with external QA partners including TCS Accenture and Salesforce
• No hands-on testing expected; role focuses on strategy governance and leadership

Ramp-Up Expectations

• Month 1: Environmental onboarding stakeholder alignment and understanding portfolio landscape
• Month 2: Begin delivering test planning intake participation and risk leadership
• Month 3: Fully onboarded and independently driving portfolio test outcomes

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 10 years of experience as a Test Lead Test Manager Program Test Lead or Portfolio QA Lead
• Strong Salesforce testing experience within large integrated platforms
• Deep understanding of enterprise testing strategies KPIs and governance
• Experience leading complex multi-release portfolios
• Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge teams and enforce standards

Tools & Technologies

• Jira with X-Ray for test and product management
• Automation tools: Playwright (web) Appium (mobile via Sauce Labs) Karate (API)
• Experience with Apigee Informatica and ETL testing
• Familiarity with Mic
• rosoft Copilot and AI-assisted testing solutions
• Exposure to Tricentis tools a plus

Preferred Background

• Experience in utilities or other regulated industries
• Prior work in large highly matrixed corporate environments
• Experience overseeing system integrators and offshore teams
• Certifications such as ISTQB SAFe Agile or Salesforce-related credentials (nice to have)
