Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech!
As a Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech you will performs clerical and receptionist duties andobservesthe cardiac monitors within a specific nursing unit. Transcribes physician orders and performs computer activities.Consistent with the Mission ofMercyOne Vision of Patient Care Services evidence-based standards of care and established policies and procedures.
Schedule:
36 hours per week (0.9 FTE)
6:00am - 6:30pm
Every third weekend and holiday rotation
General Requirements:

- Knows and adheres to all laws and regulationspertaining topatient healthsafetyand medical information (i.e. HIPAA Stark etc.)
- Function in an assistive role under the supervision of the Registered Nurseretainingaccountability for ones own actions and behaviors.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem solving.
- Support andparticipatein shared leadership and interdisciplinary care.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and practice consistent with the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001).
- Contribute to the positive image of the nursing profession and enhance the magnetic culture of the organization by modeling professional behavior both in the organization and in the community.
- Serve as a mentor to students new nursing assistants peers other colleagues and staff.
- Embrace changeand lifelong learning taking personal accountability to seek outexperiences that enhance the ability tomaintainskills and competence in clinical practice and role performance.
- Seek feedback concerning ones own practice.
Education:
Must be 17 years of age. May berequiredto be 18 years of agein some areas.
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. All Certified Nursing Assistants are encouraged tobelong tothe National Nursing Aide certainareas participation in the registry is required.
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training isrequiredwithin 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will bewithin30 daysof hire and every year thereafter.
