About the Role: ARxIUM is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Technician to join our Chicago-based operations team supporting our full portfolio of pharmacy automation solutions. This role is integral to ensuring the quality reliability and performance of ARxIUMs systems across their lifecycle from assembly and testing through refurbishment installation and field service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who thrives in a dynamic environment enjoys solving complex challenges and is motivated to work across multiple product lines supporting healthcare innovation. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional product quality and customer experience while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Essential Functions:
Assemble test troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical components assemblies and systems in accordance with technical drawings schematics and specifications
Perform testing validation and release of new machines to ensure quality and readiness for deployment
Refurbish machines and sub-assemblies to meet performance and quality standards
Stage and prepare equipment for installation and deployment
Develop document and maintain quality control (QC) staging and refurbishment procedures
Build test and verify cable assemblies; perform wire termination (including crimping) and routing
Execute electrical wiring from motors sensors and field devices to PLC control panels
Perform pneumatic connections including solenoids valves and associated components
Support cross-functional teams including Marketing Training R&D and Product Development with in-house systems
Participate in new product introductions (NPI) including prototype builds testing and feedback
Open update and close work orders accurately within the companys ERP system
Travel as required to customer sites to support installations commissioning maintenance and service activities
Provide onsite troubleshooting and technical support to ensure customer satisfaction
Cross-train and mentor team members to build technical capability across the organization
Work collaboratively across all ARxIUM product lines to support operational and customer needs
Perform other related duties as assigned
Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
Proficiency with electronic test equipment (e.g. multimeters)
Familiarity with computer hardware (keyboards scanners touchscreens) and system integration
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word Excel)
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
Ability to adapt and work across multiple product lines and priorities
Education and Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of directly related progressively responsible technical experience
Prior experience in manufacturing automation or field service environments is an asset
Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field preferred
Equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered
