Teacher Fine Arts .5

The Fine Arts Teacher is responsible for providing engaging standards-based instruction in performing arts to elementary school students. The teacher fosters creativity self-expression and appreciation for the arts while supporting the schools mission and promoting a positive inclusive learning environment. This is a part-time (.5 FTE) position serving students in grades PreK5.

• Plan and deliver high-quality fine arts instruction aligned with state and district standards.
• Develop lessons that promote creativity artistic skills critical thinking and cultural appreciation.
• Integrate a variety of artistic techniques materials and media into instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Incorporate opportunities for student choice collaboration and performance or exhibition of student work.

• Assess student progress using a variety of formal and informal measures.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and participation.
• Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and improve student outcomes.

• Establish a safe respectful and inclusive classroom culture.
• Promote positive student behavior and engagement.
• Maintain and organize instructional materials equipment and supplies.
• Ensure the proper care and use of art materials and equipment.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school-wide initiatives as appropriate.
• Contribute to school events performances exhibitions and celebrations that showcase student learning.

• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning related to arts education and instructional practices.
• Support the schools commitment to equity inclusion and belonging.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

• Bachelors degree
• Appropriate Massachusetts teaching licensure in Dance or Theatre
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to fostering creativity and a love of the arts in all students.

• Part-Time (.5 FTE) Salary will be prorated based upon hours worked
