Position: ESOL Teacher Part-Time/Full-Time
Reportsto: Director ofStudent Programming; Director of Federal Programs
TermsofEmployment: 10months
PayGrade:NC State Salary Schedule (commensurate with experience) plus local supplement

NatureofWork
Undergeneralsupervision supports and teaches English Learner students including their identification screening and presentinstructionandinstructionalenvironmentsthat reinforces speaking listening reading and writing as well as the development of academic vocabulary that staff members in the understanding of English Learner needs. Theemployeealsocreatesaflexibleprogramandenvironmentfavorabletolearningand
Plans and implements a program of English instruction aligned with the ELP Standards and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study district curriculum and classroom instruction to meet the education needs of EL students.
Provides academic support to identified EL students by way of individualized and small group direct instruction consultation and/or yearly assessment.
Completes yearly W-APT/annual ACCESS Proficiency testing and alternate assessment training.
Administers scores and reports W-APT/ACCESS information in conjunction with the school testing coordinator.
Recommends documents and monitors modification techniques as appropriate for each EL students unique needs and language proficiency in the regular classroom and for standardized testing.
Maintains/updates ESOL cumulative records (purple folder; Ellevation).
Informs parents of the childs yearly language proficiency levels and description of services to be provided.

PhysicalRequirements
Thephysicaldemandsdescribedherearerepresentativeofthosethatmustbemetbyan required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; kneelcrouchor crawl. The employee must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequentlyor constantly to life carry push pull or otherwise move objects. The employeemustregularlylift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific visiion abilities requiredbythisjobincludeclosevision peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employeesinthisjobmustbeenergeticand flexible and possess the visual ability to preparedataworkwithrecordsprocessesanddo extensive reading and research. Due to amountoftimespentstandingand/orwalkingphysical requirements are consistent with those for Light work.
