MACHINETOOL TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR PARSONS

The Tennessee Collegeof Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time positionof Machine Tool Technology Instructor to be located at Decatur County RiversideHigh School in Parsons Tennessee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Machine Tool Technology Diploma from an accredited technical institution and teaching experience preferred
Must have three (3) years of approved employment experience in the occupation to be taught beyond the normal learning period (generally four (4) years)
NIMS Certification or ability to obtain certification within one year
Applicant must have good communications and computer skills and be willing to remain current in the machinist field

GENERAL DUTIES:
The Machine ToolTechnology Instructor shall be directly responsible to the institutionadministration. The instructor shalldevelop plan and prepare a complete progressive course of study lesson plansassignment and instructional aides and keep these revised and up to date tomeet the requirements of industry. Motivation conduct safety discipline and appearance of student duringthe time he/she is on the institution campus are also duties of the machinetool technology instructor. Theinstructor will also assist with student placement and student follow-up; participatein recruitment of students; evaluate student progress and maintain studentrecords; participate in professional development activities; cooperate withoutside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits tobusiness and industry; and establish and maintain good public relations withinthe colleges service area. Some travelis required.


SALARY: Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Use of computer
Normal standing sitting and walking
Work is performed in a classroom and shop setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.
Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds stoop stand and work with or without accommodation to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and shop setting.
Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
