Scout Motors isseeking atechnical leader with expertise in Diagnostics andDesignFailure Mode Analysis (DFMEA)ofelectronic modulesacross the vehicle.This lead role will execute aframework that drives thedefinition for eachvehiclefunction/signalandits behavior under different real-world use casesandrelated Diagnostic code(s).This will require a close cross-communication with hardware design and release engineers as all module attributes need to be recognized/documented. These includemodule states and limitationsperformance expectations timing constraints latencyreaction timingaccuracy detection rangesfunctional purposes activation/deactivation conditions driver override capabilitytransitionsand environmental constraints.This requiresdepth of understanding inDiagnostic DTC/DID/RID definitions detection condition recovery rules display/notification conceptsand emergency operations.Experience in dataset development and module calibration/configuration is required.

Location & Travel Expectations:

• This role may be based out of theScout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte NC.
• This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and events.
• Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Masters degree in Electrical EngineeringMechatronicsComputer Engineering Computer Science or a related fieldwith12 experience
• Expert atautomotive system/platformdevelopment and modeling particularly in the earlypart of the System V
• Experience delivering platforms reused across multiple Vehicle programs
• Background in autonomous vehicles robotics or advanced mobility systems
• Background with cloud-connected embedded systems and modern DevOps pipelines
• Expert invehicleelectricalarchitecture/topologyand ECU-level software stacks automotive communication protocols (CAN LIN FlexRay Ethernet) UDS diagnostics (ISO 14229) and diagnostic communication tools
• Strongknowledge of Jira GitHub/GitLab Jenkins and in Siemens Polarion IBM DOORS Next Gen or PTC Windchill.
• Strong understanding development and verification of plant and control models in MATLAB/Simulink for execution in hardware in the loop test environment dSpacecontrol desk and automation desk
• Strong understanding of 1st principles in Engineering result/solution oriented.
• Familiarity with SW for embedded systems EE systems and architecture
• Familiarity with A2B CAN Automotive Ethernet LIN LVDS communication protocols and Vehicle Network tools such as CANalyzer CANoe etc.
• Expertise with complex problem solving data analysis access/interpret/drive results with extended teams.
• Knowledge of Automotive design and development process system requirements and general engineering best practices
• Recognized system/controls industry thought leader (awards keynote speaking standards participation

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range $160000.00 - $192500.00
