Job Summary

Project LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Have you wanted an opportunity to develop software for an advanced satellite broadband telecom service The Infrastructure for Over the Air software delivery Engineering (IOTA) team owns the software delivery to all Kuiper assets such as satellites and ground stations and their configurations.

The systems we build serve a fundamental role in the successful operation of the satellite constellation these systems need to have mission-critical reliability uptime and performance.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
The Sys Dev Engineer is responsible to support suite of software applications and services to update software on constellation of satellites on Ground and in orbit. Your support will affect our customers directly! High Impact production operations and issue triaging often require coordination between multiple Development Product and Support teams so you get to experience a breadth of impact with various groups. Itll definitely help for you to be detail-oriented and a skilled problem solver because youll also be helping us to streamline our processesand automating them where applicable.

Primary responsibilities include Space Operations supporting OTA procedures troubleshooting diagnosing and fixing production software issues developing tools automation and monitoring solutions performing software maintenance and configuration implementing the fix for internally developed code (Python / Go lang) updating tracking and resolving technical challenges and improving operational excellence and readiness of the systems.

Some of the key job functions

Provide operations support with OTAs performed in Space ensure quality of code delivered in new releases meet the bar for high performing OTAs in at launch pads Space and during provisioning of satellites root causing and triaging issues including executing the procedures to update software on Satellites during manufacturing on ground labs and in orbit with responsibilities covering multiple products features and services.

- 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience in automating deploying and supporting large-scale infrastructure

- 3 years of administrative experience in networking storage systems operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
