Stratacent is looking for a Sybase DBA who will be responsible for the installation configuration administration maintenance performance tuning security backup recovery and troubleshooting of Sybase ASE database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure upgrade and maintaian Sybase ASE database servers.
- Monitor database health performance and availability.
- Perform database capacity planning and storage management.
- Manage database objects users roles and permissions.
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Monitor and tune database performance to meet SLA requirements.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to CPU memory disk I/O and locking issues.
- Optimize indexes and database structures.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform regular database backups and restoration testing.
- Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Support high-availability and replication solutions.
- Implement database security policies and access controls.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor database activities and address security incidents.
- Provide production support for database-related issues.
- Troubleshoot performance connectivity and system failures.
- Work closely with application teams developers and infrastructure teams.
- Participate in on-call support and incident management activities.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) administration.
- Knowledge of Sybase Replication Server and High Availability solutions.
- Expertise in database backup recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
- Experience with performance tuning query optimization and index management.
- Strong knowledge of SQL stored procedures and database architecture.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of database security best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and automation tools.
