How youll contribute
A Switchboard Operator who excels in this role:

• Answers internal and external calls using Cisco phone systems including both desk phones and computer-based phone software.
• Answers code phones and performs overhead announcements as needed.
• Utilizes TigerText for designated code communications.
• Maintains electronic call documentation including shift logs sepsis logs and code logs.
• Communicates with Security personnel via radio systems.
• Monitors alarm panels for Engineering and panic alarms.
• Makes overhead announcements for sepsis alerts and other approved pages while minimizing disruptions during night shifts due to patient noise considerations.
• Uses Amion software for on-call communications and documentation of call logs.
• Uses phone software to locate contact information and transfer calls appropriately.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word Outlook and SharePoint.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills & Experience:

• Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule: This position supports both 2nd shift (2:00 PM 10:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM 6:00 AM) schedules working Wednesday through Sunday.
