Job Summary
Summary Statement
This position requires the ability to assist in the delivery of USDA commodity food to a variety of facilities statewide as well as the receiving and warehousing of commodities. Incumbent must be able to operate a variety of heavy equipment including forklifts electric pallet jacks as well as a computerized inventory system. Position requires of functional capability evaluation and the ability to work in temperature extremes.

- Tag all incoming surplus property maintain records and arrange for all unused property from previous years to be returned.
- Determine eligibility of donee to receive federal surplus property.
- Act as agency liaison with General Service Administrations Civil Rights Division researching and providing information to recipients of surplus property.
- Inspect and make appraisals of State property that has been declared excess by various State agencies.
- Conduct physical inventories and compliance audits to insure federal and state regulatory requirements are being fulfilled.
- Prepare reports requisitions and other documents.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Surplus Properties Technician
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Six months experience in inventory control such as ordering receiving tracking storing and handling inventory; disbursing materials supplies and equipment.
- Six months experiencein record keeping.
- Six months experiencein applying laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures.
