The Position
The Instrument Operations Specialist supports the day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of instrument operations within the Indianapolis Distribution Center. This role focuses on operational investigations systems troubleshooting inventory accuracy and process optimization to ensure efficient instrument movement and order fulfillment.
This position will serve as a key operational resource for resolving complex issues improving workflows and supporting cross-functional initiatives that impact instrument distribution and warehouse execution. The role will work closely with warehouse operations transportation supply chain planning and quality teams to ensure operational stability and continuous improvement.
The Opportunity
Operational Execution & Issue Resolution
Investigate and resolve operational issues related to order fulfillment inventory discrepancies and system transactions.
Troubleshoot SAP and warehouse management system transactions to identify root causes of operational disruptions.
Support accurate execution of transfer orders shipments and instrument movements.
Monitor operational workflows and escalate issues as needed to maintain service levels.
Systems & Process Expertise
Serve as an operational resource for SAP and warehouse management processes related to instrument operations.
Identify recurring issues or process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen operational efficiency.
Support development and maintenance of work instructions process documentation and operational standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Supply Chain Transportation Quality and Warehouse teams to resolve operational issues and improve workflow coordination.
Support communication between operational teams and system stakeholders when troubleshooting issues or implementing process changes.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow optimization operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
Support implementation and sustainment of CI tools such as 5S root cause analysis and standard work documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve throughput reduce operational friction and strengthen process reliability.
Operational Reporting & Analysis
Track and review operational performance indicators related to inventory integrity and order execution.
Support analysis of operational data to identify trends root causes and opportunities for improvement.
Who You Are
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Logistics Business Engineering Operations Management or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant operations experience
3 years of experience in supply chain warehouse operations distribution or logistics
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or warehouse management systems (WMS)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to investigate operational issues and identify root causes
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
5 years of experience in supply chain or distribution center operations
Experience troubleshooting SAP transactions or warehouse management system processes
Experience supporting operational investigations inventory management or order execution workflows
Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean root cause analysis or 5S
Strong organizational documentation and communication skills
Contract Details
3-year fixed term position
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana Base Pay Range $64500 - $119900 Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience qualifications and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance as well as participation in a long-term incentive program.
