Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve in a Charge Nurse/Supervisor role within a skilled nursing and post-acute care setting. This position is responsible for providing clinical leadership supervising nursing support staff ensuring quality resident care and overseeing nursing operations during assigned shifts.
Weeknight responsibilities primarily function as Charge Nurse duties while weekend shifts include broader nursing supervisor oversight responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility procedures
Provide and oversee comprehensive nursing care treatments wound care and resident support
Maintain and update resident care plans
Review resident records daily to ensure accuracy and compliance
Complete detailed and accurate nursing documentation
Monitor residents requiring special attention or alert status
Initiate emergency procedures and respond appropriately to urgent situations
Supervise CNAs and support staff during assigned shifts
Coordinate care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
Support compliance with clinical policies regulatory standards and safety protocols
Perform additional duties assigned by nursing leadership and administration
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
Long-term care experience preferred
Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and manage clinical operations during overnight shifts
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Authorized to work in the United States
Ability to complete required background and fingerprinting process
