Supervisor Plumber

The Supervisor Plumber is responsible to directly supervise and coordinate all plumbers and helpers in the Fire Safety Department; abate emergencies and schedule inspection testing maintenance repairs replacements modifications and installations of fire protection systems throughout NYCHA properties; provide technical assistance.

Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

- Conduct field inspections.
- Oversee scheduled and off-line appointments to ensure court cases violations routine tickets and fire jobs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Create review and track work orders and create material orders.
- Perform quality control inspection of shops and work sites; train staff.
- Estimate job requirements and specifications; perform field surveys and work with NYCHA departments and developments to abate emergencies and review plan specifications.
- Review blueprints; attend pre-bid and pre-design meetings for contract work; inspect contract work.
- File all permits post approval amendments emergency work notices and limited alteration applications with authorization agencies.
- Provide guidance and direct oversight of trades in conducting permitted work.
- Request conduct and witness initial and recurring performance test with DOB and FNDY
- Maintain tool equipment and vehicle accountability.
- Perform administrative duties.

Qualifications :

1. Seven (7) years of recent satisfactory full-time paid experience as a plumber at least two (2) years of which must have been spent in duties of a supervisory nature; or
2. A satisfactory equivalent.
