Position Overview
As the **Supervisor of Recreation Therapy ** you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the mental emotional and physical well-being of our patients. You will lead a talented team of recreation therapists designing and implementing innovative patient-centered therapy programs that promote healing social interaction and personal growth. Your leadership will ensure that our therapeutic activities are engaging effective and aligned with the overall treatment goals of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Management: Design develop and oversee comprehensive recreation therapy programs tailored to the needs of patients with diverse psychiatric conditions.

Team Leadership: Lead mentor and inspire a team of recreation therapists fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Patient-Centered Care: Ensure all therapeutic activities are patient-focused encouraging participation and promoting mental and physical well-being.

Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy programs making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.

Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists psychologists social workers and nursing staff to integrate recreational therapy into holistic treatment plans.

Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all programs comply with hospital policies regulatory standards and best practices. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and program outcomes.

Resource Management: Manage the recreation therapy budget equipment and resources to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors or masters degree in Recreation Therapy Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.

Certification: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) is required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in recreation therapy with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferably in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting.

Skills: Strong leadership communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Passion for patient-centered care and innovation in therapeutic practices.
