Summer Intern Quality Engineer

We are hiring interns for Summer 2027!

Our team is hiring interns at our Cincinnati OH Faribault MN and Louisville KY locations for Summer 2027. These positions go from May-August (12-week program) and offer hands-on project experience professional development and much more!

The Apogee Performance Surfaces segment generates $200M in revenue and EBITDA margins of 20-25%. Our brands in the Performance Surfaces portfolio develop and manufacture high-performance coated materials for a variety of applications including wall décor museums graphic design architectural interiors digital display and industrial flooring markets. We are the global leader in anti-reflective conservation grade electrostatic dissipative high-definition and abrasion resistance coatings that provide protection innovative designs and exceptional durability.

What You Can Expect

This internship provides hands-on lab and production experience mentorship from industry experts and the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of products. Interns will work closely with engineering and production teams and spend significant time on the manufacturing floor.

What Youll Do

• Work alongside quality engineering and production teams on real projects.
• Spend time on the manufacturing floor learning processes equipment and operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety quality efficiency and productivity.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
• Collect and analyze production data.
• Support process improvement equipment tooling and layout projects.
• Assist with time studies process documentation and work instructions.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Help implement engineering solutions and see projects through to completion.

What Were Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at a four year college or university in Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Sophomore Junior or Senior standing at the time of the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Interest in manufacturing and hands-on engineering work.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering production maintenance and quality teams.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the production floor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn ask questions and take initiative.

Pay Range

$23.00-25.00/hour
