POSITION SUMMARY: The Summer Exploration Academy is designed to provide students with engaging hands-on learning experiences that introduce a variety of career pathways workforce opportunities and real-world skills. Students will participate in interactive programming that promotes career awareness collaboration communication leadership development and problem-solving through project-based and experiential learning activities.
Instructors will facilitate engaging enrichment experiences aligned with their area of expertise while fostering a positive supportive and inclusive summer learning environment for all students.
WORKING TIMES:
4 days of summer programming (August 3rd August 6th) MondayThursday 7:45 a.m. 12:15 p.m. 8 additional hours for lesson planning curriculum development and program preparation
Required orientation date TBD
REMUNERATION: $40/hour total stipend up to a total maximum stipend of $1120
Number of Openings: Up to 11 teaching positions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and facilitate engaging hands-on enrichment activities connected to career exploration and real-world learning experiences.
Implement project-based learning opportunities that encourage collaboration communication creativity and problem-solving skills.
Create a positive inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes active student participation and engagement.
Integrate Social Emotional Learning practices that support teamwork self-confidence leadership and student relationship-building.
Maintain accurate daily attendance records and communicate any attendance or behavioral concerns to the site coordinator in a timely manner.
Participate in all required orientation sessions planning meetings and program preparation activities.
Ensure that all activities materials and student interactions maintain appropriate safety expectations supervision and behavioral supports.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in a Related Field
Ability to develop and facilitate engaging hands-on learning experiences for students.
Strong communication collaboration and classroom management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Massachusetts Teaching Licensure in a related field
Experience facilitating project-based enrichment-based or experiential learning opportunities
Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Experience supporting diverse learners including English Learners and students with disabilities
