Role Overview

TheCoupang Intelligent Cloud Software Engineeringteam builds andmaintainsthefoundational infrastructure and developer tools that power the AI lifecycle. Our responsibilities include a robust Resource Manager and a suite of AI development tools such as Workflow OrchestrationGPUvirtualizationAIorchestration for large scale AI trainingandinferencingworkloadsModel Insights Model Registry and moreenabling customers to seamlessly create manage andmonitortheir AI workloads.

As an AI Software Engineering Intern you will work alongside experienced engineers to improve AI lifecycle and ML Ops platform that powers Coupangs large scale AI models. Youll gain hands-on experience building scalable machine learning workflows AI infrastructure including GPU fleet working with large-scale datasets and contributing to production systems that impact real customers.

What You Will do

• Develop and improveproduction-grade MLworkflows for training and inferencing

• Design and build featuresthat optimize ML model performanceandfine tune AI factory to generate higherinferencing throughput.

• Contribute to scalable data pipelines and ML infrastructure (offline and real-time systems)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions

• Debug search queries and analyzeAIModelbehavior to improve product outcomes

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical field

• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Python Java or C)

• Foundation in data structures algorithms and software engineering principles

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts

• Ability to work in a collaborative fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow PyTorch XGBoost)

• Experience withGPUfundamentals andVirtualization.

• Familiarity with big data tools (e.g. Spark Hive Hadoop)

• Experience with SQL and relational databases

• Exposure to distributed systems or cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)

• Prior internship or research experience in ML data engineering or systems

• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ownership

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university during the internship

Pay & Benefits

• Internshipsarefull-time(40 hoursper week)

• Hourly Pay Range: $40 $45 per hour; we do notanticipateovertime work but if there isanyovertimehourswould be paidin accordance withapplicablelaw

• Compensation is based on market location skills and experience

• Mentorship performance feedback and final evaluation
