Substitute Teachers Join our team of dedicated Substitute Teachers who help ensure continuity in student learning every day. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and qualified candidates will be contacted to schedule a virtual interview.

PositionSummary

Lake County Schools is seeking reliable flexible and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to provide instructional support in the absence of regular classroom teachers. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment following lesson plans and ensuring the safety and well-being of students.

• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular classroom teacher
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
• Take attendance
• Supervise students in classrooms hallways cafeterias and other school settings as assigned
• Adapt to various grade levels and subject areas as needed
• Communicate effectively with school administrators and staff
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all students
• Follow district policies procedures and professional standards

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone or internet access to be able to accept and decline positions daily
• Previous experience working with children students or in an educational setting preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments
• Successful completion of background screening and any required clearances (Fingerprint Cost - $82.00. Drug Screening cost - $20.00)
• Minimum work requirement of 4 or more days per month

• Strong time-management skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Professional demeanor and commitment to student success

• Ability to stand walk and move throughout the school day
• Ability to supervise students in various school environments
• Occasional lifting of classroom materials up to 25 pounds

Pay Rate for Substitute Teachers
High School Diploma or GED $112.50 per day
AA Degree or 60 College Credits $112.50 per day
BA Degree or Higher $112.50 per day
Current Florida Certified Teacher $115.00 per day
