Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities
Student will upkeep and assist with equipment maintenance for the Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University. Primary duties include: Communicate fleet and equipment maintenance and repair needs to BRI administrative staff. Perform minor maintenance and repair as approved on BRI fleet including vehicles OHVs and trailers etc. Coordinate with BRI staff to outsource fleet maintenance and repairs a needed. Assist with maintenance and repair of field equipment in support of research and operations. Assist with upkeep and cleanliness of storage barn and shop area. Ensure fleet maintenance and repair logs are updated and accurate (oil changes tire rotations outsourced repair details etc.). Ensure all vehicle and trailer registrations are up to date (keep log updated). Ensure all vehicles are clean upon return. Assist with periodic cleaning and organization of on-board essentials of vehicles. Periodically start and idle ATVs/UTVs to ensure in good condition. Other duties as assigned.
