Compensation: $45 - $52/hr depending on experience & qualifications
Overview / Summary:
We are seeking a Structural Engineering Professional to support the analysis and design of structural systems for industrial and advanced manufacturing facilities. This role will work closely with structural engineers designers and multidisciplinary project teams to develop design concepts perform engineering calculations and prepare technical deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural engineering principles experience with applicable building codes and a desire to further develop their technical expertise in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design under the general supervision of senior engineers and technical leads.
- Support the development of structural design concepts engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Perform structural analysis and design in accordance with applicable building codes including IBC ASCE 7 ACI and AISC.
- Develop knowledge and practical application of lateral force analysis and design including wind and seismic loading.
- Collaborate with structural designers to communicate engineering requirements through construction drawings and 3D models.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure structural designs align with overall project requirements.
- Review and check engineering calculations and design deliverables to ensure accuracy quality and code compliance.
- Manage assigned engineering tasks while meeting project schedules budgets and quality expectations.
- Identify potential scope changes technical challenges and project risks communicating concerns to the Structural Lead.
- Apply engineering judgment and problem-solving skills to develop practical cost-effective design solutions.
- Participate in technical reviews and seek guidance from senior engineers as needed to support professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience.
- Knowledge of U.S. building codes and design standards including IBC ASCE 7 ACI and AISC.
- Strong analytical technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Must reside in the U.S. Southwest Region (AZ CA CO HI NM NV or UT).
- Ability to provide reliable home internet service to support remote work requirements.
- Must have current U.S. work authorization without employer visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or a Masters degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience with structural engineering analysis software Navisworks and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing structural steel and concrete systems.
- Previous experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing industrial or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering design and coordination on industrial projects.
