Essential Functions
-Receive used medical instruments and equipment from the operating rooms or other departments.
-Load prepared instruments and equipment into sterilizers following the prescribed loading patterns and protocols.
-Conduct regular quality checks of instruments equipment and packaging materials to ensure compliance with sterilization standards.
-Assist with managing inventory levels including receiving inspecting and restocking sterile supplies.
-Clean maintain and troubleshoot sterilization equipment and instrumentation.
-Provide guidance and training to less experienced sterile processing technicians.

Licenses and Credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician CRCST - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or C.S.P.D.T - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc required
Experience: Experience as a Central Sterile Technician or similar role in a healthcare setting: 1-2 years required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of sterile processing principles practices and infection control standards.
- Familiarity with medical instruments equipment and surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in instrument assembly packaging and sterilization techniques.
- Understanding of sterilization equipment operation troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgery SPD and Supply team. The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including receiving decontamination re-sterilization and maintaining essential inventory.
As a Sterile Processing Technician your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving disassembling inspecting and preparing equipment and instruments for cleaning and processing.
- Cleaning sterilizing and assembling materials wrapping kits and operating sterilizers.
- Maintaining detailed documentation logs of reprocessed instruments and equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining used articles returned from patient areas.
- Assisting with inventory management and reordering of supplies.
- Preparing preference cards and picking supplies and instrumentation for surgical cases.
- Collaborating with OR staff to ensure equipment/instrumentation readiness.
- Customer Service Responsibilities: To excel in this role you must convey compassion show respect for others be attentive to their needs collaborate effectively and act professionally. Youll need to be emotionally self-aware and prioritize safety for both patients and staff.
Working Conditions: This role involves working around mechanical equipment in noisy humid conditions and handling contaminated equipment. Safety precautions are essential to minimize potential risks. Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. stoop bend pull and place/retrieve materials.
