The Start-Up Technician is responsible for the assembly start-up and testing of complex equipment and systems performing skilled technical work in the installation maintenance repairs of heating air conditioning and plumbing equipment controls and distribution systems.

• Verifies equipment is assembled according to project guidelines and all test devices are installed properly.
• Start-up of hydronic systems including chilled water heating hot water domestic hot water steam systems and associated pumps reliefs and hydronic accessories.
• Startup and diagnostics of HVAC and plumbing equipment.
• Tests run equipment and systems as well as troubleshoot to verify proper performance.
• Contributes to project team success by accomplishing needed results.
• Assists temperature controls contractor in verifying system meets project requirements.
• Assists in development and training of other team members.
• Adhering to project quality control requirements.
• Follows safety rules/procedures and avoid known hazards in the work environment.
• Reviews safety procedures before beginning each job with known hazards.
• Places avoidance of injury or property damage above all other job requirements.

Required Education Experience and Qualifications

• 3 years experience assembling and installing HVAC/Refrigeration equipment/machinery.
• EPA Certification.
• Plan and specifications reading.
• Requires moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the Companys competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

• 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Ascending and descending ladders stairs scaffolding ramps and/or poles.
• Climbing stairs.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists hands and/or fingers.
• Operating machinery and/or power tools.
• Outdoor elements such as precipitation heat cold and/or wind.
• Noisy environment.
• Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
