You will join a cross-functional team advancing co-simulation (CoSIM)the coordinated simulation of physical-system models and virtual electronic control unitsto help engineering teams evaluate and calibrate vehicle capabilities earlier faster and with fewer physical prototypes. The work connects software controls systems engineering calibrationvalidationand vehicle-program execution in a high-visibility environment where practical execution and technical judgment matter.
The Role
The Staff Program ManagerCoSIMand Calibration will lead the execution of GMs transition toward using CoSIM environments for selected calibration and system-regression role willestablishthe operating rhythm governanceprioritiesand cross-functional accountability needed to turn a promising virtual capability into a repeatable product-development method.
This is a Staff-level program leadership role for someone who can move between strategy and day-to-day execution. You will bring structure to an evolving initiative resolve competing priorities make risks visible and create alignment across technical teams and leadership. Success will be measured by adoption of reliable virtual methods improved execution flow reduced dependence on development vehicles where technicallyappropriate and contribution to a shorter vehicle-development cycle.
WhatYoullDo
Own the integrated CoSIM and calibration execution roadmap including scope milestones dependencies decision points resourceneedsand measurable outcomes.
Lead cross-functional execution across calibration controls software systems engineering validation vehicle programs testfacilitiesand external partners to deliver agreed capabilities on time and with quality.
Establish andmaintaina clear operating model for intake prioritization ownership handoffs issue escalation and decision-making across program and capability work.
Drive readiness of the virtual assetsfor execution including simulation variants plant and controller models calibration inputs test scenariosdataand supporting tools.
Partner with technical leaders to define repeatable calibration and regression workflows including version control traceability approval paths releasereadinessand continuous improvement.
Identifyand resolve technical organizational and schedule risks; surface trade-offs early and provide leadership with concise statusoptionsand recommendations.
Create transparent reporting for program health capability maturity adoption quality cycle time physical-assetutilizationand other agreed success measures.
Represent the initiative in senior leadership reviews and technical forums translating complex engineering issues into clear business decisions and actionable commitments.
Mentor program and technical leads and build a culture of ownership collaborationurgencyand fact-based problem solving.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelors degree in engineering computer science mathematics or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated success leading technically complex cross-functional programs from strategy through implementation and operational adoption.
Practical understanding of vehicle controls embedded software calibration virtualvalidationor related engineering-development workflows.
Experience coordinating teams through ambiguity competing prioritiesdependenciesand issues without relying solely on formal authority.
Strong writtenverbaland executive communication skills including the ability to present risksdecisionsand recommendations to senior leaders.
Demonstrated ownership of outcomes disciplined follow-throughanda commitmentto safetyqualityand customer needs.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with co-simulation software-in-the-loop hardware-in-the-loop model-baseddevelopmentor other virtual engineering methods.
Experience with automotive calibration propulsion or vehicle-motion controls embedded controllers plantmodelsor system-level testing.
Experience scaling engineering capabilities across multiple programsarchitecturesor product teams.
Familiarity with automated regression continuous integration and continuous delivery data-drivenengineeringor version-controlled calibration repositories.
Experience defining governance responsibility models standard work readinesscriteriaand performance metrics for a new capability.
Knowledge of vehicle development milestones and the interactions among software hardware calibrationvalidationand vehicle-program teams.
Experience reducing physical-test dependency improving first-timequalityor shortening development-cycle time through process and technology innovation.
