Manager Notes

Specifically need someone with experience integrating ServiceNow with Agents and Agentic flows. Whether its Now Assist Command Line or MCP Server/APIs. We would like to understand the options with cost performance and maintainability in mind.

Responsibilities

Platform Development & Administration:

  • Design develop configure and enhance ServiceNow workflows forms business rules UI policies client scripts catalog items and platform customizations
  • Lead development and administration across ITSM CMDB Change Incident Problem Request Management and Service Catalog modules
  • Perform unit testing and support SIT/UAT cycles defect resolution release validation and post-deployment stabilization
  • Support platform administration including ACL management update sets instance upgrades user/group administration and environment management

Integrations & Agentic Flows:

  • Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications monitoring platforms middleware cloud platforms APIs and third-party tools
  • Lead agentic integration design - connecting ServiceNow to AI Agent frameworks via Now Assist CLI tooling MCP Servers and APIs
  • Evaluate and recommend integration approaches with clear tradeoff analysis across cost performance and maintainability
  • Support AIOps and event management initiatives through observability integrations for automated incident correlation and remediation

AI & Intelligent Automation:

  • Support AI-driven workflow automation initiatives including Predictive Intelligence Virtual Agent and workflow recommendations
  • Implement and test agentic workflow patterns that allow AI agents to read from write to and trigger actions within ServiceNow
  • Assist in establishing governance and guardrails for AI-generated actions within ServiceNow workflows

Delivery & Collaboration:

  • Participate in Agile/hybrid delivery - sprint planning backlog refinement estimation release coordination and deployment activities
  • Conduct code reviews and implement technical improvements for performance maintainability and scalability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including SOPs configuration guides integration specs and operational runbooks
  • Mentor junior developers and support knowledge transfer across the team

10 15 years of overall IT experience with strong ServiceNow development and administration expertise.

5 years of hands-on experience designing ServiceNow workflows integrations and platform customizations.

Must be able to assess and implement integration patterns between ServiceNow and AI Agents using one or more of the following approaches:

    • Now Assist (ServiceNow native AI capabilities)
    • Command Line / CLI-based orchestration
    • MCP (Model Context Protocol) Servers
    • REST / GraphQL APIs and event-driven triggers

Must be able to evaluate options across three key dimensions and present structured recommendations:

    • Cost - licensing infrastructure and operational overhead
    • Performance - latency throughput reliability under load
    • Maintainability - upgrade path supportability and long-term ownership.

Design and prototype agentic workflow patterns that extend ServiceNows automation reach into broader AI ecosystems

Collaborate with Data & AI Platform and Enterprise Architecture teams to align integration patterns with organizational AI strategy.

Document integration architecture decision rationale configuration guides and operational runbooks for each evaluated approach.

Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript REST/SOAP APIs Flow Designer Integration Hub business rules client scripts and update set management.

Experience with ServiceNow modules: ITSM CMDB Incident Change Problem Request Management Service Catalog.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - able to present technical recommendations to senior leaders.

Preferred: Experience with Now Assist ServiceNow AI/ML capabilities and LLM/Agent orchestration frameworks.

Preferred: Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and its application in enterprise workflow contexts.

Preferred: Experience with CMDB governance service mapping and operational reporting.

Preferred: ServiceNow certifications: CSA CAD CIS-ITSM or related.

Preferred: Background supporting AIOps observability platforms and event management integrations.
