Collins Landing Systems is looking for an experienced highly motivated Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data and Analytics Team focused on supporting our Wheels and Brakes product line. Relying on a strong background in mechanical systems you will be instrumental in leading development of data driven and hybrid (physics informed) models covering multidisciplinary (performance structural thermal and vibration) aspects of our products. You will have an opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of engineers in design project sustaining customer support and manufacturing. You will also interact with customers assisting in technical decisions for the products you are working on.

What You Will Do:

• Drive the development training and validation of data driven and physics informed machine learning (ML) models with applications towards wheel and brake performance structural and thermal design and vibration mitigation and avoidance.
• Define and standardize validation approaches acceptance criteria and performance metrics for analytical and ML models across multiple programs.
• Develop and implement best practices for data curation cleaning integration and preparation for analytics and ML workflows.
• Guide and mentor other engineers on data analytics and machine learning methodologies fostering skill development and technical growth within the team.
• Lead collaborative efforts with design reliability service engineering and customer support teams to provide data-driven and physics-based recommendations that enhance product performance and address customer needs.
• Create detailed engineering reports share findings with internal stakeholders and present design reviews to internal and external customers as required.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Expertise in data analytics workflows statistical methods and engineering data interpretation with a proven record of solving complex technical challenges.
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning (ML) concepts with demonstrated experience in developing deploying and validating models for prediction classification and anomaly detection.
• Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles including structural behavior dynamics thermal concepts and systems performance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Handson experience in building and using physicsinformed neural networks (PINNs) physicsguided/constrained learning and hybrid models that blend firstprinciples with datadriven components.
• Strong experience with Python for data analysis (e.g. NumPy Pandas PySpark) and familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or Scikit-learn.
• Expertise in specialized engineering data such as strain gauge thermal or flight/aircraft performance datasets.
• Direct experience with using finite element analysis (FEA) for structural thermal and vibration analysis.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
