As an EMC Design Engineer you will evaluate design and optimize EMC solutions fornApple products. You will be responsible for ensuring that products meet EMCnrequirements and this role you will combine technical expertise withninnovationconducting design reviews to assess potential risks creatingncomprehensive test plans and analyzing results to guide problem-solving. nn- You will think systematically about products as integrated designs understanding how individual components and subsystems contribute to overall EMC performance. nn- You will work collaboratively with design teams test engineers and cross-functional partners to develop and implement solutions. nn- You will contribute to your teams collective knowledge by sharing best practices and lessons learned across projects supporting first pass success on future designs. nn- Your analysis of test data and design reviews will inform recommendations to peers and management.

Review mechanical designs of enclosures connectors and cables for EMC compliancenReview printed circuit board (PCB) schematics and layouts for emissions and immunity controlnPartner with our vendors on defining component specifications and validation procedures to meet EMC requirements at the system comprehensive test plans supervise the execution of test plans and compilation of test reportsnDefine validation requirements and training of test engineers on the collection of data at factories and Apple labsnTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical causes of EMC failures and identify solutions that are agreeable to cross-functional partnersnReview and analyze data from multiple designs present findings to peers partners and management and recommend design changes

BSEE or equivalent experience in electromagnetic fields and/or applicationsn7 years deep subject-matter expertise in EMC ESD RF and/or signal integrity areasnProficient in schematic and layout review of PCBs for emissions and immunity controlnAble to perform CAD review of enclosures connectors and cables for EMC compliancenDemonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with other engineers and cross-functional partnersnEffectively partner with EMC Test Engineers to develop test plan coordinate proto and validation testing and generate EMC certification communication and organizational skillsnWilling and able to support occasional international travel to other Apple sites vendors and contract manufacturers

nMSEE / PhD with a specialization in electromagnetic fields and/or applicationsnDetailed understanding of design and testing of ITE products for EMC compliance and in EMC/ ESD debug techniquesnTrack record of creating innovative solutions for product development and/or improve EMC with electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools such as CST HFSS ADS and PowerSI nExperience in one or more of the following fields: Wireless Power Transfer Antenna Signal Integrity Power IntegritynExperience with Matlab and scripting for test automation and data analysisnIn-depth knowledge of worldwide EMC regulations test methods and standards including EN55032 EN55035 IEC61000 series and ETSI 301 489 seriesnExperience with EMC lab equipment such as spectrum and vector network analyzers oscilloscopes and transmission line pulsers (TLP)
