CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Adjunct Faculty for SpeechEMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time REPORTS TO: Dean of Student AffairsDIVISION: Academic AffairsCAMPUS: Central CampusDISTINGUISHING JOB CHARACTERISTICSEngage students in the teaching/learning process for a variety of speech and communication courses (e.g. public speaking small group and business communication).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully an individual must perform essential duties to expected performance standards. Works assigned schedule exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands. An example of an acceptable qualification is: Masters Degree in Communication or a closely related discipline with 18 semester or 27 quarter hours in Communication. Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience teaching college level Communication must successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Southern State Community Colleges policies and procedures and applicable laws.
