Job Summary
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Technology Services Project Specialist eliminates obstacles that prevent teachers school leaders and departmental staff from focusing on instruction and the work that supports instruction every day. The Technology Services Project Specialist accomplishes this by ensuring that critical technology services are offered timely and accurately that facilitate the use of technology hardware and software by end users. Specifically the Technology Services Project Specialist achieves excellence throughout the district with emphasis in the following areas: technology project management and coordination technology solutions research and innovation technology hardware and software implementations integrations and support and trusted learning environment management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma required
Certification(s) in technology preferred
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college or 8 years of experience in a technology-related field in lieu of degree required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Ability to independently solve problems by effectively assessing issues researching solutions creating a plan deploying a project evaluating results and course correcting if necessary.
Knowledge of technology devices and software applications preferably in a K-12 environment.
Aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing technology hardware and software.
Ability to work irregular hours during the week and weekends to execute projects and/or support users.
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
One (1) year of experience in technology with a Bachelors degree required or 8 years of experience in a technology-related field in lieu of degree required
Experience with developing processes and solutions video conferencing and broadcasting
Experience with endpoint management systems endpoint support software
Experience with basic network troubleshooting and wireless setup
Experience with Windows (desktop all versions) Mac OSX (all versions) Network printers (all makes and models) Scanners (all makes and models) Mobile devices and their OSs
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead all aspects of assigned technology services projects and define high-quality results for each project.
- Collaborate with district campuses and departments to implement effective solutions to assigned projects.
- Coordinate and manage need for allocation of technology staff and/or technology interns to support assigned projects.
- Develop thorough and effective communication plans for assigned projects using all possible mediums.
- Provide excellent customer service to district users in the areas of technology solutions use and issue resolution.
- Develop and implement training plans for users during and after project deployment.
- Coordinate with district technology services vendors as needed to deliver high-quality project results.
- Develop process and procedure documentation for all assigned projects to ensure replication of the process.
- Provide updated training for all assigned hardware software application and support solutions.
- Troubleshoot assigned hardware software networking and wireless issues with quality and speed.
- Develop and implement project plans that increase technology effectiveness data risk management data privacy education and trusted learning environment management.
- Understand all assigned district software and hardware technology including but not limited to computers tablets mobile devices intercoms marquees scoreboards sound systems and other hardware such as monitors printers scanners casting devices projectors interactive boards document cameras and any other district technology device.
- Resolve issues for users quickly and with quality identifying issues and developing permanent solutions to eliminate any obstacle and prevent the same issue in the future.
- Prepare and continuously update assigned technology equipment inventory and process disposals appropriately.
- Work with vendors to facilitate installation or updating of technology devices and specialized software.
- Contribute to creating a cooperative collaborative high-performing and solutions-oriented department.
- Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
- Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).

Daily Rate pay range:
Minimum: $243.88
Maximum: $340.26
Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
