OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time Sourcing Specialist you will research and complete formal Requests for Quotes (RFQs). Completing these RFQs requires you to understand and interpret customer prints and work closely with sales engineering quality suppliers/manufacturers and customers. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding training and meeting performance goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
o Researching and completing formal Requests for Quotes (RFQs) from some of Fastenal Companys largest current and potential customers
o Working closely with the following groups: Fastenal Sales Teams Fastenal Product Development Teams Manufacturers and Customers
o Working on a team that is focused on MRO or OEM parts
o Cross referencing parts based on customers specifications
o Identifying sources of supply for non-standard items as well as providing accurate alternate or substitute items when feasible
o Collaborating with Fastenal Supplier Development team to help advance supplier onboards roadmaps and continuous improvement of data content
o Assisting the Fastenal Lean Solution team with the implementation of new business
o Working with Fastenal Industry Sales Specialists and Fastenal Engineers to better understand customers needs and solutions
o Negotiating bid details for optimal costing or cost savings initiatives with suppliers and manufacturers
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o 18 years of age or older
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Demonstrate strong math aptitude attention to detail and sense of urgency
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Demonstrate strong organization planning and prioritizing abilities
o Highly motivated self directed and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition innovation integrity and teamwork
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Possess or are working towards a Business related degree
o Prior experience in sales or a related industry
o Prior experience working with industrial products
