Job Description:

The State of Virginia is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to create enterprise application and solution architectures component designs systems integration and implementation strategies for business solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create overall application and solution architectures
• Design system integration and implementation strategies
• Lead efforts in defining documenting and estimating enterprise application solutions
• Capture requirements for:
  • Data
  • Workflow
  • Logical processes
  • Hardware and operating system environments
  • On-prem hybrid and cloud topologies
  • Interfaces with other systems
  • Internal and external controls
  • System inputs and outputs
• Collaborate with IT staff to assess business needs and translate them into automated solutions
• Produce technical estimates conceptual logical and physical system designs
• Develop sequence diagrams and data models
• Coordinate new system development with existing application systems and COTS solutions
• Analyze system feasibility and compatibility with hardware and applications
• Consult with clients to prototype architect and design solutions
• Collaborate with business teams and Enterprise Architects to support strategic initiatives
• Partner with architects and technical teams to develop roadmaps and strategies
• Design and implement enterprise security and technology patterns
• Provide architecture guidance for legacy and modernized solutions

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with SAFe architecture and Agile/Scrum environments
• Proven experience developing enterprise and solution-level architectures
• Experience integrating cross-functional applications across business units and systems
• Experience with:
  • Business and technical requirements analysis
  • Business process modeling and mapping
  • Methodology development
  • Data mapping
• Strong knowledge of relational database design and management
• Good project management experience
• Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies
• Experience with XML constructs and schemas
• Experience with SOAP and REST APIs
• Strong understanding of end-user requirements
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
