Major Purpose

Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join a dynamic engineering this role you will be a key player in designing building integrating and maintaining cutting-edge customer-facing web applications (B2B/B2C).

This position balances new feature development with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement (performance quality cost) and high-level production support. You will collaborate closely with an Agile team to analyse requirements write robust code and resolve medium-to-difficult technical issues within established SLAs.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Development & Architecture: Design code configure and test moderately complex features and programs for robust web applications using microservices and RESTful web services.
• Production Support & Incident Management: Serve as a Tier-3 incident response engineer. Utilize ServiceNow to analyse troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently under tight SLAs.
• Continuous Improvement: Work on continuous improvement projects targeting system performance quality and cost optimization based on specialized engineering knowledge.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and team members in an Agile environment. Contribute to a culture of collaboration pair programming and continuous learning.
• Task Management: Effectively manage multiple competing priorities and requests in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Experience: 3 years of professional web application development experience specifically with project experience in customer-facing B2B or B2C applications.
• Backend Stack: Proven hands-on work experience with Spring MVC Web SpringBoot and Spring Security OAuth 2. (Candidates must be prepared to showcase and discuss past projects utilizing these technologies).
• Cloud Infrastructure: Solid experience working within the AWS platform and related cloud technologies.
• Production Support: Strong background in maintaining applications in a live production environment with direct experience in incident management and ServiceNow (Tier-3 support level).
• Education: College or university graduate.

Required Core Skills:

• Architecture: Microservice architecture & RESTful web services
• Database: PostgreSQL
• CI/CD: Continuous Integration tool configuration and operation using GitHub Actions
• Testing: Familiarity with Unit Test frameworks
• Methodology: Experience working within an Agile-led team environment

Preferred or Nice-to-Have Skills:

• AWS Certification
• Frontend experience with TypeScript ReactJS and Redux
• Prior industry experience within the Manufacturing sector
