This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS) a business group within HIIs Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to help design build and sustain modern software applications that power national broadband initiatives advanced data analytics platforms and critical telecommunications this role you will work across engineering data and policy teams to deliver secure scalable mission-driven solutions that strengthen digital equity and communications infrastructure across the United States.
This role is located in Annapolis Junction MD and offers a hybrid work model typically requiring onsite presence 23 days per week to support collaboration and missioncritical work.
- Architect develop test and deploy highquality software solutions supporting national telecommunications and broadband objectives.
- Partner closely with product data and policy teams to turn complex requirements into clear implementable technical designs.
- Implement modern secure coding practices and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications through upgrades performance tuning and lifecycle support.
- Participate in architecture discussions contribute to documentation and share knowledge across the engineering organization.
- Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelors degree or 3 years with a Masters degree.
- Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelors degree or 7 years with a Masters degree.
- Proficiency in: Python MATLAB Rust Unreal Engine and Azure Cloud/Windows environments.
- Solid understanding of API development RESTful services and microservice architecture.
- Active SECRET security clearance required.
- Experience working with federal agencies or in government-related programs.
