Software Development Engineer, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Observability Analytics

CloudWatch Logs is one of the highest-scale logging services at AWS trusted by millions of customers to reliably capture store and protect their operational and security logs. We operate large multi-region distributed systems handling an enormous volume of data every day.

Were looking for a Software Development Engineer to help us build and scale these systems. Youll work on hard distributed-systems problems and on the customer-facing features that enterprises depend on with a mix of deep design work and raising the operational bar so the team spends less time firefighting and more time building.

Key job responsibilities
- Design build and operate high-scale distributed services within CloudWatch Logs.
- Tackle real scaling and reliability challenges across large fleets and high-throughput data paths.
- Improve operational excellence by driving systemic fixes that reduce recurring issues and improve customer experience.
- Partner with PMs tech leads and other teams to deliver customer-facing capabilities.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
