Software Dev Engineer II, Quick

Are you passionate about building the foundational retrieval systems that power AI-driven experiences at scale The Agentic Retrieval team within Amazon Quick is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to help design build and operate the core retrieval infrastructure that enables our users to discover and interact with their data intelligently.

As an SDE II on the Agentic Retrieval team you will participate in the full software development lifecycle from design and implementation to operation and maintenance of highly available large-scale distributed systems. Youll work alongside experienced engineers to solve challenging problems in information retrieval search and data access that directly impact how customers interact with Amazon Quicks AI-powered business intelligence platform.

Key job responsibilities
- Participate in the full software development cycle including design implementation testing deployment operation and maintenance
- Write clean maintainable and well-tested code for production systems
- Design and implement scalable and reliable retrieval solutions
- Contribute to operational excellence through on-call rotations monitoring and incident response
- Engage in code reviews design discussions and team knowledge-sharing sessions

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
