Place of Performance:Bethesda MD (Need from DMV area )Hybrid

Clearance:Public Trust - NIH background investigation required post-award

Position Summary

Software Architects design and oversee development of Clients custom application portfolio with emphasis on Python/Django framework modernization containerization strategy and agile delivery. This role bridges medical language application development DevSecOps toolchain integration and cloud migration technical design.

Required Qualifications - Software Architect

8 years software architecture or senior development experience in a federal environment.

Proficiency in Java Python or both at architectural/senior development level.

Django 5.x - framework internals ORM design patterns custom authentication Django REST Framework deployment.

Containerization - Docker Docker Compose container deployment strategies in cloud and on-premises.

Database design - Oracle PostgreSQL or MySQL schema design and ORM modeling.

RESTful API design - FHIR API patterns preferred.

GitLab CI/CD pipeline design and code review leadership.

Agile/Scrum - sprint planning backlog grooming technical story writing.

Required Qualifications - Django Framework Lead

REQUIRED Minimum 5 years Django/Python production development experience.

REQUIRED Demonstrated mentoring of developers in Django ORM and conversion of legacy database schemas to model-oriented patterns.

PyCharm GitLab JIRA - full development lifecycle tooling.

Python 3.x Django 5.2 JavaScript CSS Bash scripting.

Section 508 accessibility - human factors and usability in web application design.

Containerization strategy for Django: Docker Docker Compose GitLab.

Ability to conduct brown-bag training sessions and code review workshops for client technical staff.
