Full Stack Java especially back end
Working to modernize legacy applications likely wont be done until end of 2027 or into 2028. The application they support is used for credit card servicing app used in the call centers specifically for small business and consumer credit cards. The legacy system these apps are built on is SmallTalk which pre-dates Java for Object Oriented Programming which these tasks are very centered around.
Working on a scrum team doing assigned stories in 2 week sprints supporting the existing SmallTalk apps and modernizing to Java.
Have a UI based on React would like Full Stack Java but more focused on the back end.
This role is expected to act as a Senior member of the team.
People who have had a break in using Smalltalk can probably be considered if other options arent available.
If people havent been an engineer for 10 years or large such gaps then it would likely be harder for them to pick back up. Hopefully have been and Engineer recently and not a Project Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
5 years of SmallTalk development experience
Should be able to package and deploy the applications build with SmallTalk in non-production environments
Microsoft SQL Server as database exposure is good to have.
Should have clear understanding of OOPS techniques and design principles.

Should be detail oriented able to multi-task
Demonstrated ability to learn the business quickly
