Simulation Technology Specialist Part Time

Job Summary
Hire a part-time staff member to utilize advanced technical knowledge and skills to support collaborative initiatives that enhance simulation based learning and educational outcomes.
Independently coordinates and executes tasks in support of a programs event service or department. Serves as point-of-contact to internal and external parties providing both information and assuring service delivery. Must foresee and rectify complications preemptively and in real time.
Student Laboratory Services provides laboratory support to faculty and students in conducting teaching research and experiments. Support may include routine or non-routine classroom laboratory operations such as inventory control ordering supplies maintenance data interpretation development and performance of technical protocols and procedures. These positions may design construct and upkeep equipment and space. All activities promote and enforce compliance with safety regulations.
Education: Bachelors degree in a related field is required. An associate degree and four additional years of directly related professional experience may be substituted for the required bachelors degree.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 1 years experience in advanced computer knowledge and a familiarity with media equipment required. Ability to train users troubleshoot and resolve problems required. Ability to train users and provide customer service skills required. Strong customer services skills required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Leadership: Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of student and/or temporary workers.
Physical Requirements: Moderate physical effort required involving long periods of standing walking on rough surfaces bending and/or stooping; periodic lifting of moderately heavy items (Over 25 lbs.--50 lbs.).
Working Conditions: Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise crowded working conditions and/or minor heating/cooling or ventilation problems. Near continuous use (>70% of the time) of a video display terminal.
